Eligible Equipment & Efficiency Ratings

To qualify for Xcel Energy's rebates, the qualifying heat pump equipment must meet specific SEER (Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio) and HSPF (Heating Seasonal Performance Factor) ratings. These ratings are crucial indicators of a system's energy efficiency in cooling and heating modes.

SEER Rating

The SEER (or SEER2) rating measures an air conditioner's or heat pump's cooling efficiency over a typical cooling season. The higher the SEER rating, the more efficient the unit. Higher SEER-rated systems can significantly lower your energy bills as they consume less electricity to achieve the same cooling output.

HSPF Rating

The HSPF (or HSPF2) rating assesses heat pumps' heating efficiency over an entire heating season. Similar to SEER, a higher HSPF rating denotes higher efficiency. AHRI Certificate Requirement
